For over five years Heather served as the CEO and Managing Partner of Lean Startup Co. in San Francisco, co-founded in 2015 with Eric Ries. Under her leadership, Heather started a consulting arm of the business and quickly developed a global book of business spanning companies such as Amazon Web Services, Adobe, Allstate, Baker Hughes, Cisco, Caterpillar, Elisa, Exxon, FedEx, Fortive, General Electric, Johnson and Johnson, IAG Group, IKEA, Kuehne + Nagel, LECO, Mastercard, Mars, Maersk Drilling, LegalZoom, Merck, Microsoft, Mozilla, PPG Industries, Roche, Sony Music, Shell New Energies, Simply Business, Target, TetraPak, Vertex, Waters, Whirlpool, and Zappos. As well as government agencies such as Department of Defense, Air Force, and Department of Health and Human Services in the United States and Department of Defense in the United Kingdom.
As CEO, Heather led a team of staff and consultants providing customized training, coaching and consulting services for senior leaders and project teams that helped organizations become more nimble and move faster, reduce risk, effectively communicate metrics/learnings/outcomes, unlock new sources of revenue, empower the most creative people, identify critical roles and behaviors needed at the team and leadership level, form growth boards, scale and continuously innovate across deep systems such as engineering, HR, legal, supply chain, finance, IT, procurement, and marketing.
